Finding solution to the bike electronic shifter that went lazy since 2 weeks ago. - a Php19 CR 2302 coin battery for the shifter

 033

The front shifter of the Wheeltop EDS Tx stopped working about two weeks ago.  I kept thinking why.  I consulted their manual, tried to remove the battery.  Tried to synch and pair them once again.  They all looked ok.  I recharged the battery several times.

Until I saw that the left shifter does not light.  So its battery that powers the bluetooth is dead.

This post bought this morning the battery.  I got two at P19.00 each.  I replaced the battery and lo and behold the EDS worked again.  I was thinking of bringing this back again to Mario but there is no need, anymore. I solved the problem.  What a relief.  What an achievement....\

What do you do when nothing seems to work, and you are on edge? What Patton did to Stalin when Russians refused to release 5,000 American prisoners

022

Most of the time we are confronted by situation of "wala"  and there are many cohorts like this who:   exert very little efforts to find the missing items, solve problems, go beyond their limits.   I too encounter this moments.  In the absence of knowledge or more inputs, or guidance for solution wisdom, we give up.

And this incident is an inspiration to never stop believing and solving.

It happened in past world war 2 and it was agreed that all prisoners would be returned to their country of origin "immediately"   But not the 5,000 American prisoners incarcerated in various camps.   They were mostly from Patton's 3rd army.   The names, ranks and serial numbers of those missing Americans were gathered and organized.   And then Patton brought it up through channels and they were rebuffed by Russians.  No such prisoners exist, they are being processed, its taking time.

This infuriarated Patton who failed to get solution via diplomatic channel...  He ordered a sub altern, a son in law to organize a team to get those prisoners out.  What he did was unusual.

On border of Russian territory, facing the prison camps, he had tanks artillery  soldiers stationed.  In the pretext of  watching over the soldiers safety until processed.   Of course this was a threat, not on a war footing.  And all of a sudden the soldiers were released fast enough

Lesson:    Dont say wala, and conclude that there are no solutions   There will be if you try hard enough'

The farmer pointed out the valuable information

The construction crew, as based on printed maps were cosntructing through an old creek.  The old creek was redirected.   But the printed maps did not show the old creek location.  There were 5 teams of experts to help solve the problem..

The farmer who remembered said they were digging in a creek.    Whom do you rely on?   Memories or printed data?

How do you invent a new product? By creativity or as solution to a problem? Study of Julius Maggi

 019

You cant invent a new product by creating a better product.  The man saved his fathers milling company but by solving a problem:  how to prepare meals instantly because of less time by employees to prepare food.

Eventually Maggi was bought by Nestle

When is somebody considered an expert - 10,000 hours experience

 018

We recently encountered in the impeachment trial, a so called expert in foresics.  It turned out he was in the field, and trained only for 2 months only, not much to be called an expert

Malcolm Gladwell in his book "Outlier" said it needs 10,000 (roughly 10 years to be considered an expert

How to make ads that reallhy sell -->> ADS TO CASH

 From a little bit better.

It was derived from a book that mentions 30 ways to convert an ad into CASH.    I just mention just 10+ for ease.

Some notes:   017

1.  Ramp up imagery that appeals to the 5 senses:   taste, sight, smell, texture sound.  Most likely the reader will respond.  A video works better than still picture

2.   Put benefits (wifm) in the headline

e,g  Memorial park   (as investment hook)

Our byers of MP lots 10 years ago of P20,000 each plot saw the price of lots
rise to 100,000 each or 500% multiplier, or 50% return per annum

The gift, legacy of a lifetime -   a memorial park lot at __________

Honoring the memories of the dearly beloved at ______________ _

3.  Pricing:

Odd pricing of P499 gives impression of being a bargain.   a wholel number that of prestige, luxury
     or quality

4.  A/B -   test ads that work, or simply retitle the ads or video.   Find out the response.

5.   Associate with the model or endorser:

     1.  The Marlboro man,   with Dingong Dantes, Bea Alonzo.  What images do you associate with them.

6.   Positive end result  if you buy the product:

     1.  Cleaner toilets;
     2.  Less repair and maintenance
     3.  More prestige and respect

  7.   Use of color -   darker color evokes weght, strength and durability,   lighter colors of lightness but not strength.

8  Extreme specifity better than generic ad:

      1.  Complete hardware staff  vs  # of hammer, # of bolts (100,000)  number of skus, etc

      2.  Delicious pizza vs spefication of fresh ingredients delivered daily

9  Product is valuable   mention the number of stars in review, the value of the property compared to competitors.

 10. Meeting certain wants:

        1.  Survival
        2.  Enjoyment of food
        3.  Freedom
        4.  Sexual enjoyment
        5.  Comfort
        6.   Protection of loved one
        7.    Approval

11 rules for system thinking by Peter Senge 016

 H2 SI     2026  016

Please observe this as you implement changes in your system;..

Peter Senge 11 laws for system thinking

n his book “The Fifth Discipline”, Peter Senge outlines 11 Laws that will help you to understand business systems and to identify behaviors for addressing complex business problems.

  1. Today’s problems come from yesterday’s solutions
  2. The harder you push, the harder the system pushes back
  3. Behavior grows better before it grows worse
  4. The easy way out usually leads back in
  5. The cure can be worse than the disease
  6. Faster is slower.
  7. Cause & effect are not closely related in time & space.
  8. Small changes can produce big results, but areas of the highest leverage are often least obvious.
  9. You can have your cake & eat it too but not all at once. Not either/or. allow time for solutions to work.
  10. Dividing an elephant in half does not product two small elephants
  11.  There is no blame

Selling problem comes from conversation problem

H2   2026  015

🚨 YOU DON'T HAVE A LEAD PROBLEM.
YOU HAVE A SALES CONVERSATION PROBLEM.

Read that again.

Every month, thousands of Real Estate Agents, Financial Advisors, Insurance Professionals, and Network Marketing Leaders lose clients...

Not because of their product.
Not because of their company.
Not because of the price.

They lose them because of one conversation.

You generated the lead.
You spent money on ads.
You followed up.
You scheduled the meeting.
You presented with confidence.

Then you heard...

❌ "Pag-iisipan ko muna."
❌ "Balikan kita."
❌ "Hindi pa ako ready."
❌ "Mahal kasi."
❌ "May kausap pa akong iba."

Then a few days later...

They bought from someone else.

The painful part?

You invested hours...
Built rapport...
Answered every question...

Only to lose the sale in the last few minutes.

How many commissions have you already lost because you didn't know what to say next?

One lost client could already be worth...

🏡 Hundreds of thousands—even millions—in real estate.
💼 Years of recurring commissions in insurance.
📈 A growing organization in network marketing.

It's not just one sale.

It's the future referrals...
The future renewals...
The future recruits...
The future income that disappeared with it.

The market today has changed.

Clients are smarter.
They compare everything.
They ask harder questions.
They delay decisions longer.

If your sales conversations haven't improved...

Your results probably won't either.

Imagine if you could...

✅ Build trust within minutes instead of chasing it for weeks.
✅ Ask questions that help clients convince themselves.
✅ Handle objections naturally without sounding defensive or pushy.
✅ Present your offer with confidence—not pressure.
✅ Close more clients while serving them with integrity.

How the 1% think

The Board of Directors the top CEO think like this:

1.  Find the missing notes.  What is not there in the presentation.  Try to find that

2.  What is the lost function.    (In your failure)   Try to be less wrong.... What is the missing thing?

Agreement to agree...  How to train for new function  What are we trying to achieve.  Stop avoiding        mistakes  but to learn from them

3.  Think in terms of long term (Solution after next)   How can we replace a part  or structure xx number of years later...

5 - 7 years hence.  Can you stay put, and determined   Will lyou stay in the game

1. Look for the missing data or "ghost notes"

2. Iteration, the more high-quality mistakes you make the more you learn. Stop avoiding mistakes 3. Manage and allow tension 4. Think long term, at least 7 years 5. Think about what kind of person you will become if you make a decision

How not to sell; meeting the scion of the Phil excavator

After coming from Guagua to see and try out excavator for sale, we went to Cubao upon urging of the agent whom I know.   2 years unsold stock of ---- made in China (but Japan owner)   There were 3 sizes

                    2.5 tons  -   P1.6M

                   2.7  ton         1.8M

                   3.3 tons        2.0

All BN (but 2 years in PHL)   The sure bet according to the users is 4 tons or PC40

We canvassed   PC 40MR 3 from Japan with breaker P850.000;

The other one across the st.  P650,000  without breaker probably P700,000 with  breaker

However the at the second one in Cubao, (maybe they are playing coy, or  breaking our advantage or nego, said he will ask the dad.  The agent we were about to make a deal on:

price, dp, and term.  We got none of that.

The son lacked authority and certainity...   All the things we talked about marketing he did not have it and maybe he does know how to run a business

Advanced MoU - it does not work

 H2  2026   011

This post made an advanced MoU gmail. to a proposed partner however the TCT and the proposed game changer  ie a diversion road completion were not clear.  The MoU made a scenario of 55-45 which were very generous enough.  But the other party was not happy because he said our share which would be equitized (the development cost) should not be deducted from the sharing

In the current sharing of say 60:40, the dev cost and ope ex are deducted from our share, of the net gp, the other side gets a lot and we get net lower because op ex and dev cost are deducted from us.

Without deducting the dev cost from  the sharing the calculation should be;

Other side land  say                                        P500                           15%

                     Dev cost   2,000 +

                     expertise of the developer   P1,000              3,000.00                        85%

                                                                                          3,500.00

How the Vanderbilts lost $200 b in just 3 generation

 HG 2026   009

                                                                  Commodore

One of the mansions his grandchildren built

Cornelius Vanderbilt was the 2nd wealthiest American ever;  the first is John D Rockefeller.  He was woth $200B   and after 3 generations all of it was gone.

Cornenlius was uneducated and made money in shipping and trains.  He controlled choke points so that they would have to pay him (as in airports, seaports and express way now)

His advice to Henry, his successor was keep it together.   He gave Henry $100M to start and Henry doubled this to $200M in several years.     But for the next generation, he split the fortune and gave away to his children (unlike his father  who wanted  to preserve wealth) and  the heirs had only one goal to spend it but not bring in more wealth to the family.  Is it happening to our family now.?  Everybody wants to spend this

The children tried to out shine one another building mansions first in NYC and later in Rhode Island.

To preserve wealth keep this together;   dont split it.  It becomes smaller and weaker.  Solid wealth is powerful.   (as I told my olds when we sold the bank and we get our share of several millions.  They wanted to split the largesse.  I objectted.   Lets build this up and then spend.  We never got around it  But my Inang did:  splurged in casino, travelled abroad brought classmate and brod and sis abroad.

Tactics in a negotiation to win and be a success - to get what you want...

We need a menu of options on how to conduct ourselves in a negotiation.   Knowing these variety can help you win a negotiation in number of ways.   There are 10.   Before I read a book on such tactic:  good cop bad cop sand bagging and helped me win some of the early deals.

Those mentioned in the video are:

1.  Anchoring:     (or porcupine approach)   does this look good to you?  Is this the model that you prefer.

We will look for a m. odel that fits your needs

.2.  Mirroring, echoing  -  repeating the same last words of the other party at slight questioning inflection.  This gives doubt in the minds of the other party and makes him pause think and wonder if he said the wrong number or offer.

3.  Silence is golden -  the pause that causes nervousness. Pregnant long pauses causes uncertainity in the seller or the buyer and makes time for him her to reconsider.   Maybe he will  change the offer.

4.  Flinch -  body action to show displeasure and surprise.    It has to be authentic to have an effect

5.  Good cop bad cop.  The bad cop looks like an enemy, good cop is the ally.  And then you eventually cooperate with them align with them to give them what they want.

6.  Door faced -   there is big first offer and second lower offer,  And you tend to approve the second one because the other party has been rejected

7.  BATNA  -   Alternative.  Best Alternative to Negotiation Allready Negotiated and Agreed.   Have strong options alternative before hand.  Research your opponent other supplier and be sure you have strong facts.

8.  Nibble/salami  -   when everything is agreed upon Ask for small favor very little  not a big one which they can not reject.   After investing too much in the negotiation and big deal, you cand reject a small favor asked.

9.    Ultimatum -  walk away, final offer.  And walk away because there were straws that broke the camels back.  The other party cant change a bit.   Be prepared you as in 7 have strong options

10.  Trading -  you  trade positions not asking not begging.

IT IS HEREBY AGREED COVENANTED by parties mentioned above to enter into this MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING for the above mentioned project

   1.  Responsibilities of the LAND OWNER

       1.  To pay RPT
       2.  To ensure that there are no liabilities nor are there tenants
       3.  To secure local clearances and approvals:

Barangay and Municipality MPDC for locational clearance ie that the property  is suited for MP and that there are no objections
      4.  Have the properties titled to their names in not more than 12 months  (to be facilitated)
      5.  Secure informal nods from the Mayor VM and SB who are claimed to be relatives of the land owners
      6.  Secure copies of the DPWH diversion road project, notice to proceed and promise to complete by contractor DPWH

What skills could be developed by a person in times of AI

Many jobs will be lost. But some of them cant be copied nor be substituted by AI especially to a person.

1. Personal mastery especially on matters of death.  You have to focus on things that are real and which

    matters most

2.  Selling  cant be delegated nor relegated to AI,   Selling is done human to human and it has to happen through alive human beings.   AI cant sell

3.  Reality of money  Many people including AI do not understand well yet:   inflation, compounding and diversified portfolio.  Here we can strengthen our knowledge

4.  Building other people  giving praise, thanking good performance.   AI cant do that.  Only humans, you can do this

5.    Judgement and choice  We notice that AI does not make good response because it tries to please the general majority.  But not a particular person -  you.  Because AI can t make a choice or judgement Only a real person can

Deal making: solutions that are arrived at for difficult problems

I could no longer and cant tolerate anymore detailed nitty gritty of operations I spent decades minding that.  Although we are trying to build a system of performance evaluation now.

What I mind now is deal making, creating big wealth on new projects.  There are 2:   one in NL one is in an island province now being claimed by an imperialist be theirs.

The one in NL is a dream to be because 1.  the land is untitled,  2. it is based on future road being built connecting 2 towns and 1 major city.  The none in an island province. It used to be dead deal. We are now reviving it.   But the land is expensive.  The NL is more likely to proceed.

Ito ang nakita kong solution sa isang balakid sa deal kasi mahirap ang naunang cts na deal na 5 years to pay with forfeiture.

Sa kwenta ko po:  kung gagawing first two years:   cash ang bayad 40M

Pag ginawang P120K ang payment, maging 24K   ang dp, may additional nang 120 months =    4k additional  sa   6,000 lots na maibebenta  x 4,000 k =  additional 24 m.

Pag ginawang 120K lote   120 x .8 x  1.45 =    2,320 per month

Balance of 20M for the  10,000 purchase.

Dp                           Ma    x  No o f   installment buyers
Total    Ma         DP  +   MA                    Net sales
    Year     1                 28,800,000                           21    x 232,000  =                4,872,000     =      33,672,000                   16, 172, 560

               2                 28,800,000                            78, x  232,000 =                 18,096,000    =      46,896,000                   22,510,008

YES WE HAVE 20m TO pay the 40M purchase

Learning: Last week July 4- 11 POINTERS IN RUNNING A BUSINESS

2026 007  Summary of things we should remember when running a business.  From YT

      1.   Cash flow, not profit is paramount in business.  Thus the terms of AR and  AP must be in favor

of cash build up.  Prefer payment in cash for receivables and sales, and prefer deferred payment

instead of cash.    CASH IS KING

     2.   Selling is the MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY IN business.  Selling creates value, and wealth.

It needs clarity of the brand,  and trust must be built.  However trust build in decades can vanish

          in seconds

    3.  REPUTATION is a very important business asset

    4.   In business you need clarity of  communication to CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES

    5.  When you expand, you need clarity

    6.  FOCUS in few ideas and products.  Focus creates depth and intensity

Areas for self improvement

Self improvement is contained in Pete Senges 5th discipline.   Senge believes that the best strategies are not the brilliant ones but more of internal:   improve self and people and we improve the execution

The areas that are candidates for self improvement are:

1 Health and physical fitnes  through diet, exercise, hydration, regular check up

Especially at past 70, you have to fight sarcopenia (loss of muscle) and dementia (foggy  memory

and forgetfulness.  For physical, it is advised that the senior strengthen his leg muscle to avoid falls

and lift weights to fight sarcopenia.

There is another and maybe unacceptable advice:   train harder than before;    Add reps ride faster

because if not you speed up your aging.    Youth has to come from within  And when you increase

intensity, metabolism speeds up and new cells birth speed up to

2 . Emotional:   being more mature, taking on problems  and streses,  social adaptation - with family

        workmates, club members

  3.  Mental and psychological

      1.  Learning

      2.  Memory

      3 Public speaking

Learning July 4 to 11, 2026 continued

2026 006   HIDDEN LESSON FROM THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS

We often focussed on the first two servants who followed the master and multiplied by two

the talents that were given by the Master.  It is about risk taking and welcoming with joy

the invitation of the master to partkake of his blessings and let it grow for their and others

               benefit.

We forgot about the third servant who was overcome with fear, distrust and fear, blaming

others for our misfortune.  The third servant thinks his master is unjust and takes what is not

his  So instead of welcoming the invitation of the master, of multiplying his talent, he

buried and hid it   Thats like what we do with our talents.   We set our limits

THE IDEA IS TO BE HOW TO BE A NO LIMIT PERSON

A Cautionary Tale from the Third Servant

“He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’”

Matthew 25:24-25

Now let’s take a look at the third servant.

It’s easy to criticize the third servant for his inaction, but let’s look deeper into the underlying cause: fear.

While caution can serve as a guide, it can also become a hindrance that holds us back from fulfilling our God-given potential (just like in the Parable of the Minas).

The third servant allowed fear to paralyze him, an obstacle we must all be cautious to avoid.

The tragedy here isn’t just a buried talent; it’s a buried opportunity for positive influence and growth. The biggest risk is often not taking any risk at all, especially when entrusted with something as invaluable as a talent.

Instead of taking responsibility, the third servant chose to blame his master for his own shortcomings. Accountability isn’t just for the times we succeed; it’s also for the moments we falter. Acknowledging our fears and limitations is a key part of authentic personal growth.

What did I learn last week - July 4 - 11, 2026

2026 001.  Importation of equipment from China Alibaba:

     1. Usually the price quoted at Ali Express is the deposit (misleading)

    2.  One of the best way to import is via I wish bag.  You send them URL of the product desired;

         1. You pay them and they pay (using your payment) to Ali express and they handle

             the customs, forwarding, DTD

        2.  There is still risk about Iwishbag.  You lessen though the hassle of Phil custom and the DTD

That takes the mystery and guesswork about importation from China of cheap equipment

2026 002   Flail lawn mower

vs Hog mower or the slasher.

                  1. Flail is more expensive and is usually borne by a tractor for effectiveness

                 2.  Flail has a rolling cylinder that either has hammer cutter or the y cutters.   about 30

to 40 cutters arranged in a helix

                 3. Can be used for both lawn and brush cutting

                 4. Can be 3x more expensive

                 5. Y blades can be set at 3.5 mm and can do golf course like cut.  Slasher leaves a line

                    and has coarser cut

I was offered a flail mower.  RC, or tractor attachment?

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit- Napoleon Hill

To paraphrase :    Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit ( OPPORTUNITY)

Many of us despair when we fail, lose a business, a loved one have an accident.  Its not how we fall but how we rise.  Failure is just a stage.  It is not permanent.   We fail forward not backward.

This post comes from a poor family, father was a janitor in a govt office when he married my mother, My mother was a labandera to make both ends meet.  But thrift and perseverance got us through and we rose to become better off than others, better than before.

Many  great enterprises  rose from difficulties and hardship:  Netflix was rejected  by blockbuster,  Apple got rejected by banks, Musk was fired at Paypal, Job was fired at Apple,   Google was not bought by Yahoo.   and many many more stories of rejection

It has been said, after the rain comes sunshine.

Nylon was an overcooked plastic; penicillin was a strange spore that grew on a Petri dish that killed other bacteria.  Many breakthroughs did not come from lab, clean office environment.  They came from advesity.
